At Mind the Bridge, we previously discussed how Intrapreneurship programs are a powerful tool, not only to leverage employees’ potential but, more importantly, to spread an innovation culture inside the organization. According to our data and among the corporations that applied, 30% of Corporate Startup Stars and 10% of the Innovation Challengers run intrapreneurship programs able to involve up to 35% of the headcount.
This month, Pelliconi – the world’s leading manufacturer of crown corks, metal and plastic caps for the bottling industry – has launched a brand-new intrapreneurship program, looking to leverage its workforce and generate ideas across departments and plant sites. The program, designed and implemented with the support of Mind the Bridge, is part of Pelliconi’s innovation strategy, including the recently established Antenna in Silicon Valley.
With this program, Pelliconi aims at fostering the exchange of innovative ideas within the company in both product and process innovations, including materials, waste management and sustainability.
The program will initially run for one year, and all employees who participate will be able to devote part of their time to developing their business ideas. Selected projects will be supported by Mind the Bridge scaling managers throughout different stages of the program. The most promising of those selected projects will have the opportunity to join the Mind the Bridge’s Venture Studio in San Francisco and work closeby the Pelliconi’s Innovation Antenna in Silicon Valley.
