Andrea Sguazzi

Head of New Ventures

Andrea is an innovation manager with over 13 years of experience across multiple industries and countries. He started his career as an analyst in Bratislava, Slovakia, before taking on various roles within the Enel Group, where he worked on both the strategic and hands-on execution of open innovation initiatives. He led a cleantech startup acceleration program in Africa, helped shape Enel’s innovation strategy as Chief of Staff to the Chief Innovability Officer in Rome, and eventually moved to Silicon Valley in 2022 to head Enel’s local innovation hub. There, he launched numerous projects in collaboration with startups, investors, and corporate partners, bridging the gap between emerging technologies and large-scale industrial adoption.

As Head of Venture Builder and Startup Programs at Mind the Bridge, Andrea launches new ventures focused on deep tech challenges and helps startups secure corporate partnerships and scale their businesses.

An economist by training, Andrea holds a Master’s degree in International Business from Maastricht University and a Bachelor’s in Economics from Bocconi University.

When he’s not working with founders and investors, you’ll likely find him in the great outdoors—hiking among California’s redwoods or skiing down Tahoe’s fresh powder.
