A new batch of Spanish startups is ready to fly to Silicon Valley for a brand-new edition of Desafia San Francisco Immersion Program, this time exclusively dedicated to Spanish technology startups led by women.
Established by ICEX Spain Trade and Investment (the Government of Spain’s agency for the internationalization of businesses) and Red.es (the Government of Spain’s agency responsible for executing and deploying part of Spain’s Digital Agenda), run by the local partner Mind the Bridge (MTB), the 2023 Fall batch will be hosted in the MTB Innovation Center in San Francisco, South of Market (SOMA), from October 30th to November 10th.
“This unique program is a pivotal initiative aimed at immersing entrepreneurs into the Silicon Valley ecosystem, with a dedicated emphasis on bolstering women in entrepreneurship – commented Bobby Amiri, Head of Startup Products and Services at Mind the Bridge – Its primary objectives include equipping participants with the essential experience and knowledge required to effectively expand their business models on a global scale, offering a soft landing into the U.S. market, fostering valuable connections among startups in similar stages of growth by tapping into founders’ insights, and nurturing a collaborative community of women in entrepreneurship. Furthermore, it strives to capture the attention of ecosystem stakeholders keen on championing and supporting women’s technology entrepreneurship.”
The companies admitted to the Fall 2023 edition operate in markets ranging from online education to connected cars to analytics, sexual health, immersive VR, cooking, and software. The list of the admitted companies was unveiled in Madrid during a dedicated Bootcamp, organized by ICEX and Red.es, with the presence of the Secretary of State for Commerce, Xiana Méndez and the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, Carme Artigas.
