Towards a stronger European Innovation presence in Silicon Valley

EIT Silicon Valley Hub, driven by EIT Digital, Europe’s largest open innovation ecosystem for a strong, inclusive, fair, sustainable digital Europe, opens new offices in San Francisco, hosted by Mind the Bridge Innovation Center. EIT Digital is supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union.

The decision to move the operations inside Mind the Bridge starting from the Summer of 2023 aims to take advantage of further synergies with the global bridge organization headquartered in Silicon Valley since 2007, providing today services and products to corporates and local startup ecosystems and housing Innovation Antennas of European companies such as Enel, Acciona, ENI, Terna, among others.

Digital is everywhere – we need to do everything to enable the scaling of European startups and scaleups, help them lift off and take a leading role on the global stage in the tech domain. We’re confident that our long-standing collaboration with Mind the Bridge will help us and our Pan-European network.”, commented Federico Menna, CEO, EIT Digital.

The collaboration between the two entities dates back to 2015, when they first partnered for the “European Innovation Day” and “SEC2SV” – two of the first big events at the time aimed at strengthening the link between both sides of the Ocean in innovation – followed by several Scaleup Summits, MTB’s most successful format. More recently, in 2022, EIT Digital has become one of the launch partners of the MTB Ecosystem platform.

Based on the renewed agreement, the first future collaborations will include the co-organization of the “AI and Regulation” workshops within the upcoming Scaleup Summit San Francisco 2023 (October 3-6) and the collaboration over the  “Connect&Experience Program” 2023 (November 26-30).

We have come a long way together with EIT Digital and witnessed the growing interest of the European policymakers in the Bay Area throughout the last decade. Today it’s no longer a pure matter of bridging the two continents, rather consolidating the links and creating actionable cooperation. We are pretty confident that this agreement will pour new energy and value into the global innovation arena, by joining forces and working side by side for a common journey of growth”, added Marco Marinucci, CEO and founder, Mind the Bridge.
