This week Terna, the largest independent TSO in the European TSO Market, hosted the first Innovation Zone Forum in San Francisco, aimed at addressing the complex challenges that the transition to new energy sources is posing to the grid.
Organized with support of the Italian Innovation and Culture Hub (INNOVIT), the Italian Consulate General in San Francisco, and Mind the Bridge, the Forum brought together leading European and U.S. energy utilities, clean tech investors, and startups to identify crucial, targeted innovations to the Grid Resilience & Stability, Maintenance and Operations. The Forum represented also the opportunity to showcase startups industrially validated both by Terna and Redeia (Eoliann, Hypermeteo, Wsense, Wesii, Melaworks, Unusuals, Splight).
“Their goal is finding new customers and investors in the United States. We believe in the innovative solutions promoted by those startups, and in their ability to tackle the technological challenges posed by the energy transition with us.”, commented Terna’s CEO and GM, Giuseppina Di Foggia, emphasizing that Silicon Valley is the ideal environment for advancing Terna’s global role in energy innovation.
The forum marked a critical step in Terna’s commitment to building cross-border alliances to promote Italian startups, connect them with potential U.S. investors, and solidify Terna’s position as a leader in sustainable tech innovation.
