As the founders would explain in one sentence, in3Dgallery is a cloud based tool to create immersive 3d presentations. It was founded in 2013, but although it is fresh and new the story begins years behind…
But let’s hand over the floor to Francesco Marcantoni, the CEO.
Tell us about the team, we hear that it’s a consolidated one, that has founded other companies together, is that right?
Yes, we are proud to have a decade of experience together. I’m Francesco Marcantoni (CEO). I founded in3Dgallery together with Francesco Gallorini (CTO), Marcello Comanducci (COO) and Gabriele Maidecchi (Co-founder ).
Our love for the 3D world begins in 2007 in Tuscany, Arezzo, our home-town, where already in 2007 we founded and still run a company that develops web and mobile 3D solutions.
What came next?
Our first big project was in 2008 when we launched and sold the first 3D virtual mall in the world. Later we launched “3D virtual art gallery” a 3D virtual presentation of an art gallery. This was a real success as it was downloaded by more than a 100,000 people and most important it was the trigger that made us understand that the world and the market was ready and mature for a tool that allowed users to create their own 3D galleries.
But how was the initial idea of in 3D art galleries expanded to presentations?
We initially thought that the App was aimed at art galleries but after a market validation and user’s feedback through the website and social networks, we understood that the requests for this kind of product was way wider. We figured that nowadays more and more people are looking for innovative ways to successfully engage their audience and customers. That’s why, after pivoting for a while, we decided to broaden our horizons and explore the world of presentations. Any type of user with necessity to present and share ideas, in an innovative and engaging presentation can now use our tool. Some examples include managers that want to give out professional looking presentations, companies with need to present their products in a new way or free lance photographers that want to share their work.
You have come a long way after that, landing in San Francisco at Mind the Bridge..
We first presented in3Dgallery in September 2012 at Techcrunch Italy as one of the selected startups. We also decided to apply for the Mind the Bridge accelerator program, and here we are now a few months later…in San Francisco!
But let’s talk about in3Dgallery again: why should I use it?
The words are: simple, professional and engaging. It’s simple to use, the result looks professional and users can engage their audience by creating presentations that have 3d templates, images and text. We have reinvented the concept of presentations!
What were the surprises along the way?
Uh! So many! I always say: no Startup gained success with the original idea! As a team we believe in an open-minded perspective and embrace change and innovation. Thanks to the support of MTB we were able to tackle and revisit many aspects of the original idea and the result was a successful one. This is why we are in constant search for improvement and ways to reach our maximum potential.
Speaking of future, what are your next objectives?
Conquer the world!! (laugh..) We want to establish in3Dgallery in the US market to then reach the rest of the world. We want to maintain the key feature of in3Dgallery which as I said is simplicity, but at the same time we look to add further features such as 3D graphs, a wider choice of templates, 3D text… Our future plans also include the release of a software development toolkit that allows advanced users to create templates on their own and subsequently sell them to the in3Dgallery users through the internal market place of the app.
If you want to try the app you can find the free Beta version at www.in3Dgallery.com
We definitely recommend it!
