Industry, Retail, Urban: these are the areas where Olivetti and TIM WCAP are looking for innovative technological solutions to be integrated into the business in an Open Innovation perspective through the “IoT Challenge” open until June 30th.

The challenge, launched with the support of the international advisory firm Mind the Bridge, is part of Olivetti’s strategy for building a portfolio of value-added products and services.  With a focus on 5G and making use of its past experience,TIM WCAP favors business and collaboration opportunities with ready-to-market startups, SMEs and scaleups.

“When we talk about Olivetti we are talking about a historic brand of the Italian industry and a visionary entrepreneur and innovator who transformed shop-like operations into a modern factory.  – commented Alberto Onetti, Chairman at Mind the Bridge Today Olivetti is the TIM Group’s Digital Farm for the IoT solutions. The  “IoT Challenge” is a unique opportunity for the most promising IoT startups and scaleups to scale innovation with a strong and reliable industrial partner. We are looking forward to supporting Olivetti and TIM in this innovation quest.”

Proposals can be submitted through the TIM WCAP platform https://www.wcap.tim.it/it  and will be evaluated by a jury composed of managers and experts who will identify the best projects: the winners will have the opportunity to develop their own project on Olivetti IoT platforms.

In the Industrial IoT field, the Challenge is looking for solutions for the digitization of processes aimed at improving the efficiency of industrial plant management, monitoring performance and creating natively digital services (IoT by construction) for corporate customers.

With regard to Retail, the Challenge aims at awarding solutions for the digitalization of stores from an “omnichannel” perspective, with the aim of making the management of stores efficient with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), Retail IoT and Digital Payment tools.

Finally, as regards Smart Urban Services, the focus is on solutions for the creation of digital services capable of improving the lives of citizens in cities (such as waste management, mobility, safety, parking and monitoring of pollution and transit indicators).

The Challenge will also be pursued through the Scaleup Summit global platform managed by Mind the Bridge. The platform aims at fostering business opportunities between large companies and the most promising international scaleups.
