The edition number 8 of our Startup school is coming up. The 29th of October, after a month of outward calm in our San Franciscan offices, we are finally welcoming our new students.
In these 2 years more than 60 people have passed through our program, question is: how are they doing now? Here are some of their stories:
Simone Lini was a student in our first edition in July 2011, when he was only 21 years old. A little more than one year later he’s nearly ready to launch Youmove.me, a pretty amazing app to find the quickest/cheapest way to get where you need to be. I’m sure that we’ll hear a lot about him soon!
Giorgio Bertolini and Alessandro Coscia met for the first time in September 2011, during the 3rd edition of our Startup school. It was kind of “love at first sight” for them. Since then they’ve started developing together a great project, Ploonge. These guys have come a long way since their experience in San Francisco, and Ploonge is now a real social network, or more precisely a social dining marketplace, and has received a $370K investment in August 2012.
Massimo Fabrizio, Jacopo Chirici and Valerio Castelli took part in the March 2012 edition of the school. Thanks to this experience they formed an absolutely kick-ass team and less than 6 months later they launched Rysto.com, a social online platform that enables to fill job vacancies in real time in the hospitality field. Well..that was quick!
Raffaele Gaito, Michele Criscuolo and Enrico Rossomando are 3 of the members of the Mangatar team. They have partecipated in our Startup school in July 2012 after having won the first round of the Wind Business Factor competition. Mangatar is “social game in the manga universe”, built by a pretty cool crew of guys from Salerno. They’ve recently reached more than 3000 users and just a couple of days ago they got the second prize at Startup Campania.
Francesca Romano, Gioia Pistola, Andrea Meriggioli and Fabrizio Cialdea left our offices a little more than a month ago. With their great startup Atooma they are now the rockstars of the Italian (and not only) startup ecosystem. After having launched the beta version and won Techcrunch Italy last week they have been featured in many of the most well-known tech media. Great job guys!
So, while congratulating our Alumni for their great successes, we are now really looking forward to welcome our new students and the prizes winning Startups Adespresso and Flazio at the November edition. Let’s write the next great story!
