After having graduated 50 talented entrepreneurs in 2012 we are back in the game with the first edition of 2013 of our Startup school. 12 young entrepreneurs coming from all over Italy are disembarking in these days in the land of dreams for every startup passionate of the world.
Most of them are still recovering from jetlag but this isn’t affecting their excitement. They were able to adapt really quickly to the different startup environment they found (who wouldn’t??), even though their first impact left them speechless. On Friday we attended an event with over 500 startup passionate that stayed until 2 am networking, discussing, talking and, what surprised them the most, LISTENING. Oh yes, people here are interested in what you do and they actually want to help you. I guess that this might be a surprise coming from Italy.
In these 3 weeks we want to see them experiment, evolve, take a chance, take risks and be ready to call everything into question. In the first week we analyzed the Lean Startup method, we encouraged them to get out of the building to get all the feedbacks they can get. To give you a taste of what’s happening here are some of the other modules we had until now:
– Introduction to Silicon Valley, by no less than the Boss, Marco Marinucci,
– Presentation skills, by our star mentor Anne Marie Russo
– Value proposition, by our kick ass School Director, Charles Versaggi
– Business Development, by Matteo Fabiano (our Mister mentor)
– Legal and Strategic issues, by one of the most loved mentor and lawyer (and party companion) James C. Roberts III…
You might wonder who our heroes are, here you can see their wonderful faces and this are the five projects that we are working on:
– Cityglance
– Myagonism
– FindYourItaly
– ShopTheMall
– Newspot
if you haven’t heard about them yet we can assure you that you will soon!
What’s going to happen next?
Stay tuned! 😉
The goal is to put them on the spot, keep them out of their comfort zone for as long as they are here, to challenge them and to have them grow even more than what they thought they could possibly do. Let’s see how it goes..
