Rethinking the Corporate Accelerator model.

Why TrenLab Accelerator is interesting case worth to deep-dive?

3 reasons:

• The Vertical: It is one of the few world’s corporate accelerators focused on innovative solutions for freight and passenger trains (others are Intelligent Mobility Accelerator by Transport Systems Catapult, Platform-X by Virgin Trains),
• The Partnership: It has been launched by Spain’s state-run railway company Renfe in partnership with a telco (Telefónica),
• The Model: it is an attempt for a Corporate Accelerator (Wayra) to outsource its activities to other companies (Corporate Accelerator as a Service).

Launched in October 2018, TrenLab has already produced some interesting results (i.e. the ongoing collaboration between Renfe and startups such as Iomob, Limmat, Zeleros).
