OUR CONTRIBUTION: SSenstone got selected as part of the 4- week Startup School early stage program for international startups made in partnership with KISED (Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development), which brought other 7 startups from Korea, and Enel, which brought 2 startups from Brazil. SSenStone was already more advanced compared to other companies. We helped them to land to the Silicon Valley ecosystem with introductions to mentors, potential advisors, and local serial entrepreneurs in similar business areas in preparation of their future potential expansion in the US market.
Horus Aeronaves develops aerial solutions, with national manufacturing of VANTs for aerial mapping and image processing platform.

OUR CONTRIBUTION: Horus Aeronaves was selected as part of a challenge organized by Enel (one of the largest energy utility companies in the world) in Brazil. Horus is one of the most advanced startups we met during the history of our program but also well recognized in their home country. We helped them to demystify Silicon Valley and prioritize the saturation of their local market but also prepare for a global expansion when ready. We reframed the value proposition and review their unfair advantage.

OUR CONTRIBUTION: Brich joined together with a group of South Korean organizations selected by our partner KISED. They were selected out of an initial selection of 60 startups. Definitely one of the most advanced companies we worked with and very well recognized in their home country (top 5 fashion e-commerce in South Korea). We helped them revamp their pitch, effectively for US investors, as they were preparing to fundraise their Series B. They closed their investment a year later in South Korea of $2.5M with investors like Hyundai Technology Investment and POSCO Technology. We remain available and happy to support them for their US expansion when ready.
Opinary is a startup that established a new way for users to share their opinion in online content.

OUR CONTRIBUTION: Luxrobo and its founder joined our program together with two groups from South Korea and Italy. They were part of a program organized with our partners KIC (Korean Innovation Center) and ISSNAF (Italian Scientists and Scholars in North America Foundation). The founder of Luxrobo was the star of the class. He was very well recognized in his home country and by his peers. The project at the time was still at his beginnings. We helped provinding Luxrobo with a reality check of the Silicon Valley mindset to bring back to Korea together with recommendations on redefining their value proposition and identify the best business development channels. Luxrobo is an established robotics company now back in South Korea and we remained available for scaling in US as we believe it has great potential.

Since then AdEspresso has doubled their personnel size each year, reaching 40 people. The decision was made to leave engineer and design in Italy, while expanding management and marketing to California. AdEspresso has also raised $3M+ from a range of investors that included 500 Startups and the Vegas Tech Fund. In 2017 AdEspresso was acquired by the Canadian unicorn Hootsuite, confirming the soundness of its business. As the Hootsuite CEO puts it, “everybody is happy” – and we are too!
